As senior vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Solutions Division, Dr. Nathan is responsible for strategic oversight of the companyís core database and middleware business, which enables enterprise customers to maintain information in a heterogeneous environment with connectivity and access.Ý Dr. Nathan oversees profit and loss accountability, research and development and product marketing plus channel and customer support teams for ESD.

Dr. Nathan has extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, field service and product marketing.Ý Prior to joining Sybase, he was president and CEO of Siemens Pyramid.Ý Before becoming president, he held a number of positions at Siemens Pyramid, including the position of senior vice president of product operations.Ý Prior to joining Siemens Pyramid, Dr. Nathan spent six years at Unisys Corporation, where he was director of systems engineering.Ý Before pursuing a career in the industry, Dr. Nathan spent several years in academia in a professorial capacity.

Dr. Nathan holds a Ph.D. and a masterís degree in industrial engineering from Iowa State University.Ý He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras, India.
